Many
families have contributed in many ways to the
Learning Journeys and activities and experiences
offered to the children.
If you’re wondering
how you might contribute, here are some shining
examples:
Cassie’s
family brought in their House Plans; Kiera’s
Mum (Corri) brought in photos of the various
stages of their house renovations and talked
about this experience with the children; and
Jack’s Dad demonstrated how architects design.
Jackson’s Mum found some books at home that
were relevant to our Learning Journey, so
Heather brought them in to read and share.
Lachlan’s Mum (Miriam) showed us how to make
Croatian eggs to celebrate Easter (dyeing eggs
by boiling them with brown onion skins).
Taylah’s Dad brought in lots and lots of fruit
from his Fruit/Vegetable Stall at the Belconnen
Mall, which the children eagerly devoured while
Sal extolled their virtues (that’s the fruit
and veg, not the children’s!).
These
are just some of the special ways parents can
get involved in the educational program, and add
such wonderful extra dimensions to the
challenges set up by our teaching staff.
